UPDATE (January 31, 2024 1:20PM): The projected end for the northbound Torrey Road closure is early May. The northbound traffic is being diverted due to the installation of Phase II of the water main along Torrey Road. This is just an estimate, weather and other construction factors may impact the timeline.
We have received notice that Phase II of the Genesee County Drain Commission’s Southern Lakes Water Extension project is set to proceed. Construction on Phase II will start along Torrey Road at the intersection with Thompson Road.
The plan is to close northbound Torrey Road between Lahring Road and Thompson Road starting Monday, February 5, 2024, weather permitting.
The Genesee County Road Commission has approved the detour for northbound Torrey Road to head west on Lahring Road to Jennings, north on Jennings Road to Thompson Road and then back east on Thompson to Torrey Road.
