You may obtain a 2024 Genesee County Dog License from the Fenton Township Office now thru September 14, 2024.

Dog Licenses are required by Genesee County and administered through the Genesee County Animal Control.

Per Genesee County:

All dogs are required by state law to be licensed by the age of four (4) months. The owner then has thirty (30) days to provide proof of age, date of current rabies shot, and proof of spaying/neutering (if applicable) to a licensing office.

Examples:

  • If you are getting a new Genesee County Dog License and you come in at the September Deadline the rabies vaccine proof must be from August 2024 or September 2024.
  • If you are getting a 1-year renewal license during a 3-year vaccine that was given in June you can come in to purchase the 1-year renewal license in May, June, or July (be sure to bring the proof of the 3-year vaccine with you).

The Fenton Township office can only process the 1-year dog license; if you would like the 3-year license you will need to go thru the Genesee County Animal Control office.

If your dog has already registered in the past, the county will send a filled out form to you in the mail. Our office will have blank forms available. Please bring prepared forms if possible.

You may print a blank from from the link below to mail to the Genesee County Animal Control office if you wish to purchase a 3-year license or are outside the purchase window for the Fenton Township Office.
