Mission Statement

The mission of the Fenton Township Fire Department is to enhance the quality of living in our community by preventing or minimizing injury and loss of life or property resulting from fire or other emergencies, natural or human-caused, that may occur within the jurisdictional boundaries of the township we serve.

Goals

  • To prevent and reduce fire risks through public education, code enforcement and inspection programs.
  • To minimize injury or the loss of life and property when fire or other emergencies occur.
  • To confine and extinguish hostile fires.
  • To provide these protections at acceptable and effective costs within available resources.

About the Department

The Fenton Township Fire Department (FTFD) covers approximately 32 square miles and provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the Township. The FTFD was established in 1975 as an on-call department. In 1996 the Township hired its first full time Fire Chief who is also the administrator of the Department.

The FTFD is committed to the education of the children within the Township. We have a "Safe at Home Program" in the schools to educate them on fire safety.

Our Department is equipped with automatic external defibrillators (AED's) for cardiac arrests and we have a thermal imaging camera to detect fires inside of walls and other areas not seen by the human eye.

As with any successful organization, there needs to be people that care. We in the FTFD have the most caring and dedicated individuals in the profession. Without their input and hard work, there would not be a fire department. We would also like to give credit to all the people that work behind the scenes to support us on a daily basis - Thank You!
