Board of Review

The March Board of Review meets each year to hold scheduled appeal hearings following the required organizational meeting. The appeal hearings are held at the Township Hall in the upper level conference room.

The March Board of Review times and dates are listed below for 2026 appeals.

The March Board of Review consists of 1 Chairman and 2 members with 2/3rds of the board being taxpayers of the Township. The March Board of Review members duties are to hear and make decisions based upon support provided by and on the taxpayers request.

The Board is not the Assessor, they are independent peers. The assessor may attend and help gather requested information for the Board but does not make the decisions for the March Board of Review.

The March Board of Review has the authority to review the following types of appeals: Current year assessed and taxable values; current year poverty exemptions under MCL 211.7u; current year assessor denial of Agricultural exemptions and current year assessment classifications. The Board shall review the roll according to facts existing on tax day, proceeding December 31.

If a taxpayer intends on appealing, please call the assessor’s office to schedule an appointment with the March Board of Review at (810)629-3445. Questions may also be addressed to the March Board of Review via email at bor [at] fentontownship.org (bor[at]fentontownship[dot]org)
